Limitations of Service

Wireless technology is designed to keep you in touch while on the move. In times of disaster, wireless service may even provide a means of essential communication when other means have failed.

But, it is not perfect. In some areas, coverage sites have not been entirely completed. Even where coverage sites are completed, wireless service relies on radio signals that are subject to interference, blocking, fading and distortion. Wireless calls may be dropped as you move from place-to-place and may be hard to initiate when you are in certain areas. These limitations affect all kinds of calls; personal, business & emergency.

Likewise, digital equipment & service plans do not necessarily assure you of receiving digital service, including certain unique features & attributes available with this technology. When a digital signal is not available, your phone automatically switches to an analog mode.

CellularOne cannot guarantee 100% reliability or total conversational privacy. In cases of system-wide outages, CellularOne will, upon demand, make pro-rated refunds in amounts paid for service. However, your customer service agreement provides that other kinds of damages from eavesdropping or from missed or garbled calls are both unpredictable & hard to quantify, that you are in a better position to ensure yourself against them, & that CellularOne cannot be required to pay so-called consequential damages.

There are steps you can take to mitigate some of these problems. First & foremost is to learn how your phone works. For example, speed dialing & automatic recall are features which can be of great help when a call has been dropped or you encounter system congestion. "Hands-free" features & accessories help you use your phone more safely while in your car. You should familiarize yourself with areas where coverage is limited, & take care always to have fresh batteries for your portable phone.

Please feel free to call one of our Customer Care representatives with your questions. We want you to get the most out of this exciting wireless technology.
